Well welcome to our deflocking tutorial!
So you decided you want to deflock a pony! Well then you have come to the
right place.
Before we begin Id like to go over some important points.
Whenever you use a chemical such as acetone or varnish remover it
is very strong and is going to cause the plastic to be more vulnerable
to scratching. I have heard many people say oh just scrape the flocking
off with something. If you want to damage the pony go right ahead and do so.
If you would preffer your pony to come out nice and smooth then follow my tips!!
Many people will say use varnish remover big tip, acetone does
the same thing in fact what do you think most people use acetone for
Thats right varnish remover! If you have
some laying around it doesnt hurt to try!

Materials:
Acetone
A pan or dish deep enough for pony to lay in
....(I recommend purchasing something just for this purpose due to acetone
and chemicals)
Lots of Cotton Swabs
Xacto Knife or utility knife to remove head (Optional)

As you can see here we have a dreary subject. Definatly could use a good deflocking. If you are planning on customizing your pony then go ahead and remove head and hair now. If you are planning on just deflocking you may still want to remove the head.

Begin by filling the botton of your pan with a good half inch of acetone. You can use less but the more you use the easier this will be. Remember Acetone evaporates quickly so be prepared to do this all at once!

Place pony in acetone bath. I like to lay them on side first then the other. Youll see the acetone start to soak up through the flocking!
This is what you want let it get a good soak through then turn her over and allow the other side to soak. It only takes a few seconds on each side. If you need to dunk the top of her rear in too.
Now comes the fun part! Grab a cotton swab and begin pushing the flocking off I start with the back of the legs and the insides of the legs. Just work your way around push the flocking off. I say pushing because you really dont have to rub most of it will just come right off. Yes it gets messy! Around the symbol do the same just done apply hard pressure. They symbol for the most part shouldnt come off if you just run the Qtip over to get the flocking off. Switch to a new Qtip often they get used up pretty quick. Once you have most of it off just use qtips dunked in acetone to remove the remaining bits

As you can see shes pretty much done! You may want to practice a few times on bait before you deflock a pony whos symbol you dont want removed. Sometimes a little touch up is necassary but for the most part you should be ok.

Now lets see what she looks like fully restored!
Remember before:

and here she is defrizzed, curled and deflocked!

Hope this tutorial helped you!!!
